Venerable Voices: Sts. Thomas More and John Fisher

June 22, 2024Sts. Thomas More and John Fisher are two of the incredible Saints who gave their lives as a witness to the faith in response to the English reformation. These two men, along with many others from their time and in the centuries after, committed themselves to the truth, to Christ, and to the common good, even at the expense of their own lives.
There is an excellent play (later turned into an excellent movie) about St. Thomas More, titled "A Man for All Seasons". It's definitely worth checking out for a faithful and inspiring account of one man's witness to the faith.
Like Blessed Stanley Rother, these two holy men valued the truth of Jesus Christ and his Church above all the powers of the earth. May they all pray for our courage to live the faith boldly as they inspire us to do so through the lives they led.
